After a riveting first season of Unmarried, the tale of three Johannesburg women, Brenda, Thembi and Lesego who found it difficult to strike a balance between their careers, demanding relationships and motherhood – is back with a second season.
Despite their different life circumstances, the three all longed for one common goal – to be loved forever. And their return for season two comes with a plot twist centrered around – love, death, new responsibilities and dilemma as they further explore the friendship while accepting their imperfections.
First episode sees the viewers experience the death of Lesego [Keke Mphuti] - a slay queen with a taste for the finer things in life, leaving Brenda [Renate Stuurman] - a career-driven banker, and Thembi [Thembisa Mdoda] - a devoted girlfriend, dealing with her death while unwanted responsibility is left in their care.
‘’We are very thrilled to welcome the new star-studded cast members who joins the Unmarried family for the new season. The new additions bring with them a diverse talent pool that makes the new season a must-watch,” says Nomsa Philiso, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.
After a failed 10-year marriage in season one, viewers will meet a reinvented Brenda who finds herself juggling between a new flame and her business taking on an unplanned responsibility. Thembi, who has to pick up the pieces after 15 wasted years comes across an encounter that forces her to make a very deep self-introspection as her future comes head-on with events from the past.
Lunathi Mampofu, Sisa Hewana, Mtokozisi “EmKay” Khanyile, and Don Mosenye are among the big name cast members who joins the Unmarried family as the popular drama series returns for its second season.
Mampofu will play the character of Claudia Dunn, a retired supermodel who returns to South Africa after cutting ties with everyone. Hewana will play the character of Ernest Modise, a relationship guru who worms his way into everyone’s lives. Mtokozisi “EmKay” Khanyile joins the drama series as Cam, a social media influencer, and Don Mosenye completes the new additions to the cast as multi-billionaire business mogul, Benson Mabunda.
Unmarried Season 2 premieres on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) every Tuesdays at 8pm.
