LLOYISO SIGNS WITH INTERNATIONAL LABEL

Former Idols South Africa contestant Lloyiso has scored big as he has officially signed Lloyiso to global music labels Republic Records and Universal Music.


Lloyiso becomes the first African artist to join the New York based label that is home to Grammy award winning artists such as Ariana Grande, Drake, The Weeknd and Taylor Swift.


But he is no stranger to locals as he first won many heart in the 11th season of the singing reality show Idols SA in 2015 where he made it to the Top 5 and he returned to high school post the show - he was only 16-years-old. According to report, in 2018, he enrolled to study education but quit several weeks into his course and signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment. This inevitably led to him moving to Joburg where released a few singles and, in the past year, blew up on social media boasting 1.4 million TikTok Followers, 230k YouTube Subscribers and 264k Instagram followers.


"Lloyiso has all the makings of a career superstar — knock out vocals, incredible song-writing, and an amazing story to tell. He’s the rare talent who not only transcends genres but crosses borders as well,” said Brett Alperowitz, Republic Records Executive Vice President of A&R.


Now 22, Lloyiso makes his official international debut with his single titled "Seasons".
