IS IT UPSIDE DOWN OR DOWNSIDE UP?

Cooped up in the house with the little one and wondering what you can do for day outing that is inexpensive?

The Upside Down House might just be the daycation you need to intrigue your kids while having them entertained in the outdoors for a day trip. Located in Haarties, this house that has literally been turned on its roof including its contents and it’s a total thrill for kids.

For R100 per adult and R60 per kids between 4-7years of age – babies and elders over 80 enter for free while you should bring money for a light meal, snacks or refreshing drink. They are open from 9am – 4pm on Mondays to Thursdays, Fridays till 6pm while weekends and public holidays they open from 7am till 6pm. The earlier you arrive the better as you may find yourself standing in the queue as the house can only allow about 10 people inside at a time (2 families).

When inside it can be fascinating on how everything has managed to be stuck upside down, while I do warn you that nausea can happen as the upside down technique can overwhelm the body a little.

Do bring a camera with flash as the house can be a little dark and wear comfortable clothes as the surroundings are grassy and gravel. Once done, there is a jumping castle and play spot with swings and jungle gym that kids can enjoy while parents sit and watch. Food and drinks range from R15 upwards so expect to spend a little.

Overall the experience is enjoyable for kids and the drive is not as daunting but the entry can be overwhelming for those who don’t appreciate being stuck in traffic.
