Friends of Amstel is back to unite friends through music with an exclusive experience featuring Grammy-nominated star Wizkid alongside some of South Africa’s hottest acts, at a secret location in Gauteng on the 4th of December 2021.
Amstel made a new friend in Wizkid and had him perform at a virtual version of Friends of Amstel earlier this year in March. Amstel is thrilled to bring Wizkid to South Africa to perform LIVE in the world-renowned event series Friends of Amstel, the second live instalment of the event since its launch in 2019.
Known for his artistry in effortlessly combining Afrobeat sounds with Hip Hop, R&B and Dancehall, the Nigerian-born star has collaborated with the likes of Beyoncé, Drake, H.E.R, Chris Brown, Burna Boy, Damian Marley and Bucie. His latest work ‘Made in Lagos’ broke several African streaming records and he is set to bring that fire to the Friends of Amstel SA stage.
Keeping the spirit of memorable experiences with blending music, food and friendships, this popular musical experience returns with an awe-inspiring line-up of local artists such as DBN Gogo, Lamiez Holworthy, Lulo Café, Focalistic and LeSoul. Amstel will also be introducing new friends to the festival such as Oscar Mbo, JazziQ, Kamo Mphela, Stokie, Big Zulu, DJ Venom, DJ Banques and Sjava. All artists will be paired into unique collaborations to give memorable and unique sound experiences the way only Amstel can curate.
