Apple Music’s Home Session features reimagined signature songs and thoughtful covers recorded by artists at home and today, Afrikaans pop singer and songwriter, Demi Lee Moore, releases her own stripped down Home Session.
“I'm always chasing something, so when lockdown happened it put a stop to everything. I had to just stop with whatever I was doing and take it day by day. It definitely taught me to be more content in every moment. I look at things differently now. It really puts life into perspective when so many people are hurting around you and you start to really notice what's important. I'm not chasing empty opinions anymore, it should be about the music and only the music. If my music can make you feel happy, sad, in love, anything, And you can feel what I feel when I sing... If I can achieve that, my heart is full,” Moore tells Apple Music.
The Home Session EP, available to stream on Apple Music in Spatial Audio, will feature three exclusive unplugged tracks from this versatile vocalist, including two tracks off her latest album, “Wie Se Hart Breek Jy Vanaand” and “Jy Ken My Naam”, and one cover of Cody Johnson’s country single “Til You Can’t”.
“When I listen to Spatial Audio mixes, it feels like the music is hugging me! I can definitely envision Spatial Audio as the future of streaming. With Spatial Audio, you don't simply listen to music, you experience it in all its glory!” Moore told Apple Music.
“It was hard to only choose two originals from my new album as I love them all. I felt an acoustic version of the most upbeat song on the album could be really cool. I also chose the cover of Cody Johnson just because it's one of my favourite songs at the moment and the message is so on point. You think you have time to do things, ‘til you don't,” Moore explains.
Demi Lee Moore showed her vocal talent from an early age, becoming the first winner of the Die Kontrak TV series. Her debut album Mis Eet Slaap Herhaal achieved Gold Status in just two weeks of its release, paving the way for the career she has today.
